“Physiotherapy helps restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability.” (The CSP)
The Physiotherapy Practice, Colchester, was established in 1994 by Mrs Nicola Betts Physiotherapist and has grown to a team of 6 Physiotherapists, with support from our Sports Therapist & Personal Trainer, Body Control Pilates teacher, Nutritional Therapist and 5 admin members of staff.
All of our Physiotherapists have extensive experience and use an evidence guided approach to diagnose and treat a range of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, e.g. spinal problems, sports injuries or arthritis. Please see “Conditions” page for more information on what we can treat.
Treatment is patient centred and uses a range of physical modalities which treat pain, improve range of movement and strength, and restore function. Our objective is not only to relieve pain but to establish the underlying cause of symptoms and so help prevent recurrence. We aim to improve function and enhance performance.
Physiotherapists can also advise you on alternative treatment and investigations and can liaise with your GP/Consultant as required or requested.
All our Physiotherapists are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Those who practice acupuncture are registered with the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and some of our Physiotherapists are also members of other professional bodies. We are recognised by all major private medical insurance companies and are an approved provider clinic for Bupa, AXA PPP and Nuffield Health.
