FAQs

Do I need to see my GP before I book an appointment?

Patients are able to self-refer without seeing their doctor. We work closely with local GPs and consultants and referrals directly from them are also welcome. Some medical insurance policies require a doctor’s referral, see below.

Can I use my Private Medical Insurance?

Yes, all we require is your policy number and authorisation code at time of booking, which you can obtain from your provider. Some private medical insurance companies require a GP or consultant letter, please check with your provider.

We are registered with all major medical insurance companies and are an appointed provider clinic for Bupa, AXA PPP and Nuffield networks. Once you have received authorisation for treatment we are able to deal directly with your insurance company regarding payment for treatment

What should I wear to my first appointment?

Your Physiotherapist will need to observe the area of your problem and when appropriate other areas of your body that may refer pain or affect your condition, this will involve appropriate removal of clothing – please bring shorts or a vest top if you wish.

How long will my appointment be?

Your initial assessment appointment will be 45 minutes, please arrive 5-10 minutes early to complete some paperwork.

Follow-up appointments are routinely 30 minutes but may extend to 45 minutes.

Can someone accompany me during treatment?

You can have anyone you wish with you during assessment and treatment so long as it is clear that you consent to this person being with you.

How much treatment will I need?

The type and number of treatments will be discussed with you after your initial assessment as this will vary depending on factors like the type of condition, length of time you have had the condition and what activities you are hoping to return to. However, on average, you should expect to see improvements after 3-4 sessions.

Do I need to bring any paperwork about my condition?

If you have copies of any relevant reports, letters, scans or x-rays that relate to your condition, please bring them. It is also useful for us to see a list of your current medication.

How is my personal information used?
